The Art of Being Clueless: Ignoring Common Sense
Uncommon sense…
I really wanted to write something a little different this time, I have been writing on medium a little more these last two weeks and just using it almost as a place for my thoughts to run freely. In this article, I wanted to share something that maybe one shouldn’t say out loud.
But surely, I am not the only person to notice it. Am I?
Why have people become so stupid? really, I mean it’s got to a point whereby it’s obvious. I used to think sometimes when someone would make a silly comment or remark, that maybe it was that one person. Maybe they didn’t get it or missed the punchline. But as time goes by, it’s actually more and more people on the same bus.
I used to love the Paddy and Murphy jokes, my grandfather used to tell them all the time.
An American tourist asks an Irishman “Why do Scuba divers always fall backwards off their boats?” To which the Paddy replies: “If they fell forwards, they’d still be in the bloody boat.”
The issue is, even these jokes seem to go over the heads of most people these days.
The reason is, I feel technology has started to make people lazy. It is far easier to google something, than it is learn the answer.
